About Saffron

Saffron is a home-cooking blog and a weekly recipe newsletter. Three cooks, three kitchens and one simple idea: good food should be generous, colourful and possible on a Tuesday.

Most of these recipes were tested in small, busy home kitchens, not studios.

How we test

Every recipe is cooked at least three times, by at least two of us, in ordinary home kitchens with ordinary ovens. We write in plain words, give weights and volumes, and tell you what can go wrong before it does.

The recipe card

Every recipe ends with a recipe card. Tick off ingredients as you go, change the number of servings and watch the quantities update, and switch on Cook mode to keep your screen awake while your hands are covered in flour. Press Print to print just the recipe.

Members

Most recipes are free. Members get the whole archive, the members-only recipes and our seasonal cooking guides, and they keep Saffron independent and ad-free.
